Madelyn Cline’s workout routine and diet after teen struggle
The actress is known for her gorgeous physique, but looking like that takes work. We explore Madelyn Cline’s workout routine and diet after she opened up about her previous struggle with exercise.
Many teens struggle with their appearance, especially since the surge in social media in the last decade. Not immune to it, celebrities are often open about tabloids and the judgment they receive and how it affects them.
One of which is Madelyn Cline, who has been open about her turbulent relationship with exercise and diet as a teen.
Now with a much healthier relationship, she’s revealed her workout routine, as well as her cravings for a specific take-out.

Madelyn Cline once struggled with her body image
Unfortunately, body image issues are quite common, especially in young women. But the more health is discussed, the more something can be done to address the problems that cause it in the first place.
After madelyn-cline-eating-disorder-body-scan-video/”>speaking about her new and improved relationship with her body, Madelyn said she hasn’t always found it easy, just like many others.
“I think I was around 16 when I started working out a lot. I would wake up every morning at 5 am and I would work out for 30 minutes. It was super rigorous cardio every day,” she said. “I would eat like six almonds for breakfast because I didn’t want to counteract the cardio that I just did.”
The Outer Banks star now knows that she wasn’t fuelling her body properly.
“It turned into not feeding myself protein and not feeding my body what it needed when I was working out so much.
“All I knew was I wasn’t achieving a particular body image, and so I was angry. I was harming myself and starving myself in the process of trying to achieve that.”
Thankfully, the 25-year-old had a supportive family, and her mom stepped in.
“My mom was a wonderful help in that. She would stand there in the mirror with me and we would list out things that I liked about my body.
“After that repetition, those things became solidified in my mind. I like my curves, I like my hips, and after a while, I started to love my body. I became so much happier.”
Now, the star not only works out but knows how to treat her body better.
Her diet is a mix of healthy with the odd treat
Madelyn knows what’s best for her body and keeps it in great shape. However, like the rest of us, she can’t resist cravings for fast food and take-out.
In her own Harpar’s BAZAAR Food Diaries video, she went into great detail about what she has daily, her favorite snacks, and her biggest temptations.
Starting out the day, the Netflix actress begins with some much-needed hydration “chugging” some water as she wakes up. Showing just how relatable she is, Madelyn is a coffee-lover, but she’s attempting to change her routine with it.
“My go-to is usually coffee but I’m trying not to drink coffee on an empty stomach. However, I am addicted.”
If she wakes up super hungry, she’ll often have “the breakfast of champions” and go to In-N-Out Burger.
“My order’s a double-double with everything on it, plus chopped chilies; animal-style fries, and a diet coke.”
However, Madelyn will still have breakfast at home some days.
A breakfast sandwich, oatmeal, or maybe a smoothie.”
The actress admits that she often forgets about lunch until she’s hungry, meaning she doesn’t end up eating again until around 4.
“Then I will probably Postmates something, a sandwich of some kind. Usually, I get a tuna melt from John’s Garden in Malibu.”
When she’s on set, Madelyn has a few go-to snacks to keep her going, especially some crisps.
“Hot Cheetos, Salt & Vinegar crisps, those Snapea crisps. Good ol’ vegetables and hummus, also delicious.”
“Because usually, I wait to eat lunch later,” she says, “I will probably do something just like a little lighter.”
Her favorite is soup, especially chicken tortilla soup, green soup, lemon orzo — in fact, she has quite a few that she loves.
However, sometimes Madelyn wants something a little extra. “Sometimes I really love to make a charcuterie board. Basically, just an adult Lunchable.”
She mixes white cheese, some meat, fruits, and jams to make the perfect tasty treat for the end of her day.
Madelyn Cline’s workout routine
Moving on to Madelyn’s workout routine, she likes to keep it pretty simple.
After showing her impressive pull-up skills on Instagram, as well as flashing her toned abs, fans have been eager to know what the Stranger Things actress does to keep fit. Especially as doing this many assisted pull-ups is no mean feat!
Madelyn told Interview that shooting Outer Banks is a workout in itself, especially if she’s done pull-ups when she’s off camera!
“I get very sweaty. It’s a fun show, we have a good time shooting it. It is very physically demanding.”
However, she also told Vogue that she’s really into horse riding, a different but still great way to keep active.
Health Yogi also reports that the actress does plenty of cardio and focuses on core exercises, which we’re not surprised about.
To keep her toned physique she also does some weight-training and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) as well.
Clearly, Madelyn likes to keep her workout routine pretty varied but only does what she truly enjoys.
It’s great to see that she’s come so far from her struggles as a teenager and that her relationship with food and exercise is much improved. So much so she’s eager to share it with her fans!
